The Lincolnshire Challenge – Mablethorpe 2007

Woodhouse Juniors Under 7’s entered two teams in the above event. The event was from Friday 4th May to Monday 7th May with matches played on the Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May.

Woodhouse played Theddlethorpe in the preliminary rounds only to again meet them in the final. Woodhouse improved peformance in the final can only be described as Fantastic.

Our weekend away was thoroughly enjoyed by everybody parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, kids even Andy Roper raised a smile. Friday evening was a great social night. Saturday we enjoyed football followed by a barbecue at the Grayson’s – hopefully it was not left in too much of a mess.

Sunday night – presentation early evening. What a night! The organisation was brilliant.

Trophies were presented by guess who? Bryan Robson.

Each of the lads received a trophy and the winning team received a trophy which is as big as my house.

The highlight of the night and for me the best bit of sportsmanship I have ever seen was when Woodhouse left the stage after receiving our trophies – Theddlethorpe’s Manager, Coach, Players shook everyone of our players hands – it was brilliant to see.

That for me is what Junior football is all about!

I would highly recommend this event. I would also like to take a moment to thank our parents and players for the involvement and support.
