NEW SEASON 2011 - 2012
Woodhouse JFC v Norton Oaks FC Open Age
27th November
Featured game, an edited version of this plus pictures should appear in Fridays Star (So we believe)
Conditions weren’t ideal for football with a strong wind blowing across the pitch. The opening minutes were fairly even with both teams battling with the wind and struggling to trouble either goalkeeper. In the 10th minute Woodhouse carved their first opening and it resulted in the opening goal, Adam Gray rolled the ball into Tom Bland who got a yard on the Norton Oaks defender to riffle home an unstoppable shot from 20 yards. Norton Oakes weren’t behind for long; a long ball caused some hesitation in the Woodhouse defence, the ball being cleared from the edge of the goal area by goalkeeper Lee Williams straight to a Norton Oakes player who calmly floated the ball from 30 yards into the unguarded Woodhouse goal.
With the scores at 1 – 1 the game was very even, Norton Oakes playing nice football out of defence but Woodhouse looking the more likely team to score. After 30 minutes Woodhouse made a tactical change, Ben Putland moved into centre midfield with Glen Greene moving to left midfield, both players seemed to relish the move and Woodhouse started to control more possession. The deadlock was eventually broken after 40 minutes; Tom Bland got onto the end of a superb volleyed through ball from Adam Wragg to lob the advancing goalkeeper for his second of the game.
HT WJFC 2 Norton 1
The second half saw Woodhouse make one enforced change, depleted by injuries, 49 year old player manger Roy Bland replacing Joe Bland who had started the game feeling unwell and could take no further part. This meant a reshuffle for Woodhouse, utility man Glen Greene going to left back and Roy Bland coming on into the left side of midfield. After 50 minutes Roy played a ball through to Adam Gray who helped the ball on into the path of Tom Bland who raced clear of the defence t slot the ball coolly home from 8 yards. Norton Oaks protested that the player was in an off side position when he received the ball but the goal stood. Woodhouse with the cushion of two gals started to apply pressure and in the 55th minute a Henry Bradshaw corner was bravely headed home at the near post by Woodhouse captain Adam Wragg to make it 4 -1.
Ben Putland at the heart of the Woodhouse midfield had a recurrence of a knee injury but soldiered on manfully, Woodhouse having used their only substitute at half time. Norton Oaks now started to get on top and on the hour mark pulled a goal back, getting in behind the Woodhouse defence to slot the ball home beyond the keeper’s outstretched arms. Woodhouse should have killed the game off, Ben Putland laying the ball off to Roy Bland in the area, the player manager placing the ball narrowly 6 feet over the bar when really he should have done better. Woodhouse then had a let off as a low shot was turned into the net only to be disallowed for offside. Norton Oaks were applying a lot of pressure now and got their just rewards on 70 minutes with a left foot shot that gave goalkeeper Lee Williams no chance.
With 20 minutes left and the home team hanging on Woodhouse suffered another blow, central defender Joe Shutt who was having a solid game had a recurrence of a groin injury and Woodhouse were forced to change the team formation again with Adam Gray moving from attack into a defensive midfield role. Woodhouse then regained their two goal cushion, a long ball from Adam Rudge found Tom Bland whose shot came back off the cross bar, Tom retained possession, shook off the attentions of two defenders and drilled in his fourth from 20 yards, low to the goalkeepers left hand side.
With minutes remaining Adam Gray drew a foul following a pass from Roy Bland, Adam Rudge made full use of the wind curling the ball home from 30 yards, and this rounded off an excellent performance from Adam. The referee gave the Woodhouse man of the match to Tom Bland, the ginger haired referee said he awarded him man of the match because he is ginger and he had a good game. The game was played in good spirit, no bad tackles and no bookings for either team; it was a credit to the Meadowhall Sunday League.

Middlewood Rovers A versus Woodhouse Juniors A
After last weeks defeat to Maltby, Woodhouse made the short journey to Waverley Lane to play a Middlewood team unbeaten in 4.
A much better turn out saw the return of James Kirkby and Nathan Storey, with the latter starting the game in centre midfield.
There was also a change of formation with the usual 4 4 2 being replaced with 4 5 1, with top scorer Ryan 'Francis' Foster playing up front alone.
Middlewood started the game well with lots of neat play and possession, but Woodhouse didn't allow them to play in the final third, ensuring little danger to the Woodhouse goal.
However, opportunities came and went for Woodhouse with several saves having ot be made by the Middlewood keeper. Eventually, after some good team work Nathan STOREY received the ball on the edge of the box and fired a low shot of the foot of the far post to put Woodhouse ahead.
Several further chances for Woodhouse went by, with Cockburn and Foster both going close before Dennett had his header cleared off the line.
Jonathan Turner in goal again for Woodhouse made a vital save at the end of the first half and took a blow to the mouth as a result, Dyson clearing to keep the score at half time Middlewood 0 - 1 Woodhouse.
No changes for either team at half time, but Woodhouse's emphasis was to cut out the passing from the opposition central midfield.
Despite Middlewood creating several chances the Woodhouse clean sheet remained intact.
Then mid way through the second half STOREY broke through on the edge of the Middlewood 18 yard box and powered past the keeper.
Some re-organisation throughout the team, in part due injury to the impressive Dennet, saw Woodhouse revert back to 4 4 2.
A long throw set play saw Foster nearly make it a third before KIWOMYA stroked the ball home for the games final goal.
Middlewood A 0 - 3 Woodhouse Juniors
Woodhouse leap frog Middlewood into 3rd 2 points behind first and second with a game or two respectively in hand.
Next week Woodhouse are at home to Aston Swallownest 11am kick off.
Man of the Match: Excellent team performance, which saw a clean sheet was typified by the double goal scoring return of NATHAN STOREY, great to have him back in the team

Woodhouse Juniors A versus Beighton Falcons
6 November 2011
After the disappointment of going out in the cup last week, league action returned to Flockton Park.
Woodhouse fielded a patched up side, still short of several players due to injury.
Joe Newbould made a return between the sticks, but was carrying an injury and it wasn't long before Beighton took advantage to go 1-0 up.
A melee in the Woodhouse area saw some Newbould clear the area, but not before getting injured in the process. A substitution soon followed with some reorgantisation that saw Kyle Dennett go in goal and Sean Gilvarry move to centre half, with Kyle Wright coming on from the bench to take a place in centre midelfield.
Newbould's injury - which required yet another trip to hospital for a Woodhouse player - seemed to galvanise the team and Woodhouse had two good appeals for penalties turned down, before that man FOSTER scored again after good work down the left and a cross from Mr Assist - Kurtis Cockburn was volleyed home.
Half time: 1-1
A bit of positional reorganisation at half time in midfield, saw the Woodhouse XI unchanged after the break.
In truth both teams could have scored more, but the Woodhouse Defence and Stand in Keeper did admirably to keep out the Beighton attack.
Woodhouse though were also carving out chances, with Gilvarry, Mellows and Dyson all having efforts blocked or saved, with a goal line clearance for the latter.
And it was right back Dyson - himself recovering from a dislocated elbow - who proved to be the provider launching a long through that was tucked away at the back post by FOSTER again.
Woodhouse 2 - 1 Beighton
More chances came and went for Woodhouse, with Beighton also challenging on the break, until Woodhouse were awarded a free kick about 30 yards out on the left. Captain BULLEMENT played a dangerous ball into the box, which managed to evade everyone, including the Beighton keeper to make the score 3 - 1.
A box post header from Wright could have sealed a great second half performance for Woodhouse, but a worthy 3 - 1 final score.
Man of the Match: Notable performance from everyone in the second half, typified by the back four, but goals from FOSTER either side of the break capped off a disciplined display with great running down the channels.

23 October 2011
Woodhouse Junior FC A versus Whiston Wildcats
Todays meeting was between two teams who finished on equal points last season and a close game was expected.
A largely unchanged team was fielded by Woodhouse following the cup win to Millmoor 2 weeks ago.
Woodhouses best chances, came from the throws of Right Back, Liam Dyson (has he been taking lessons from Luis Musa?) with RYAN FOSTER converting after his own shot was spilled by the keeper.
Further pressure was applied from the throw ins, with Dyson being asked by the manager to take them from the left as well. The set plays applied more pressure and after a flick from Cockburn, FOSTER headed home from his close range for his second.
Woodhouse hit the woodwork twice from corners, but failed to capitalise.
The Woodhouse defence remained strong after the restart and soaked up pressure from Whiston. A clearance was picked up on the half way line by FOSTER who beat his man and used his pace to run half the length of the pitch before beating the keeper for his hat-trick.
Half time: Woodhouse 3 - 0 Whiston
After the break there were few chances for both teams, but FOSTER continued his good form to score from the edge of the box for his fourth.
Unfortunately, a series of silly fouls from Woodhouse allowed Whiston back in to the game and a well hit free kick brought the score to 4 - 1.
There were a few chances for Woodhouse after that, but the keeper of the woodwork got in the way again.
Final Score Woodhouse 4 - 1 Whiston
Man of the Match: Ryan Foster

Millmoor A (Div 1) versus Woodhouse Junior FC A (Div 4) U18s A
Hawleys Cup First Round Proper
Injuries to regular first team players have robbed us of 3 of our back 4, so new signings and a reshuffle of the pack were required.
Jonathan Turner (in goal) and Kyle Dennett (centre back) made their debuts for a Woodhouse team which saw several changes from the defeat at Worksop.
We had hoped that the Millmoor pitch - which looked almost like the top of a snooker table, would suit the our passing game and we were not disappointed when good work down the left from Cockburn resulted in a cross which was acrobatically slotted home by FOSTER.
A second soon followed again with Cockburn and FOSTER combining once again to extend the Woodhouse lead.
A silly 10 minutes saw first a yellow card brandished for each team, with an unnecessary hand ball by Woodhouse followed by a foul on Foster when he looked clear to claim his hat = trick.
The resulting free kick sailing over the bar.
Millmoor never gave up though and a slip from the Woodhouse defence saw them score to bring the score back to 1-2.
It wasn't long though before Cockburn sent MELLOWS through to beat the keeper in a 1 on 1 to put Woodhouse up 1 - 3.
An act of decent in the resulting aftermath though cost Millmoor their captain ( who had been carded for the earlier foul).
The score at half time 1-3.
A less eventful second half saw the lead being extended further when good work from Bullement saw the ball pulled back to Batham out wide, who hit a quality cross which was met with a cheeky back heel by MELLOWS for his second.
Only the Millmoor offside trap and the woodwork prevented Woodhouse from extending the lead further.
Despite the sending off, the game was played in good spirit by both teams with Woodhouse progessing to the next round.
Man of the match: Tough one this week with several players in contention, but with two goals and disciplined performance - Ryan Foster

League Game
Open Age Woodhouse JFC 4 v 2 Barrel Inn
Tanned Bland started the game with bringing back into the side his assistant from the bench into the starting 11. This didn't take to much working out as this weeks sub Shutt was not 100% fit.
First half was great play from both sides with the Barrel just edging play and looking to have created more chances.
Woodhouse missed a penalty in the first half bringing the game to 1-1 on the stroke of half time.
Second half was full of excitement with the wind being the topic on the side as Tanned Roy Bland felt it was playing a major part in the game at times.
Quality assistant Bland showed not only that hes as good on the pitch as well as coaching from the side lines when he picked the ball up in his own half twisted and turned his player moved into space in the box and then thundered the ball into the roof of the net from an angle that looked almost impossible. BIG GRIN said it all.
For the forth Woodhouse achieved a 2nd penalty with the same penalty taker bravely stepping up to take it ant putting it neatly away.
Assistant Bland had his third disallowed for offside which would have taken this game to 5-2.
Barrel Inn again played some excellent football and have the ability to give any team in this division a good game.

League Game
Open Age Staffordshire 0 v 6 Woodhouse JFC
A sun tanned Roy returned today to take the reigns back from unbeaten assistant manager.
Assistant was then added to the team sheet and placed on the subs bench to later find out he wasn't going to be included in the side.
Woodhouse started well and within a few moments 1-0 then progressing to creating several good chances.
Today I had the pleasure of sitting on the bench with the injured player and assistant manager (SUB). We chuckled at each others jokes and chatted on how we would run this reformed Woodhouse Team.
Goal number 2 soon followed number 3 was excellent Henry whom I'm growing to like more and more each week picked the ball up on the right wing (which is now starting to look like his best position) and bombed down the flank twisting and turning he managed to slip one in between a the defender and goal keeper. He then in amazement realised he had scored and gave the biggest smile ever.
3-0 on the stroke of half time the assistant manager rushed to hear the team talk hoping I think to add a few of his own words. Tanned Roy made it very clear we are having loads of chances slow down and relax in front of goal.
Slight slop in the second half was just allowing the ball to run away so keeping control was going to be important.
Tactical changes with the players also proved to be a deciding factor of today's game.
Staffordshire Arms played at times some good football when Woodhouse eased off but it wasn't to be Staffordshire Arms day.

League Cup - Preliminary Round
Open Age Woodhouse JFC 4 v 1 Barrel Inn
Today I had the pleasure to watch 2 teams in the Meadowhall League playing in the same league but in a cup game.
Roy Bland the manager was enjoying a sunshine break leaving his son Tom Bland with the duties of assistant Manager.
Tom approached this game well with ensuring that the correct names appeared on the team sheet along with having enough cash to pay the referee.
Upon the game starting I was privileged to having a few words with the referee whom I have to say had a very productive game.
The game started with Woodhouse the home team being matched in all departments from the opposing team with nothing much between them.
Half time soon approached with both sides leaving the field of play at 0-0. By now Tom whom I had been chatting with regarding his days fishing the day before said excuse me I need to have a word with the lads.
I didn't get to hear the team talk but whatever was said changed the dynamics of the team with Woodhouse stepping up a gear in the second half. (Kicking Down Hill Also Might Have Helped).
10 mins into the 2nd Half Bland having finished eating the apple I had given him decided to make a substitution.
Henry whom I'm becoming a fan of each time I see was switch from upfront to right wing. With Andy the sub moving to upfront keeping the formation 4-4-2.
3 Minutes into the switch the referee pulled the game back for offside against Woodhouse but we knew from this point on what was about to start and happen. The ball over the top for the 2 forwards to chase Andy pounced 1-0 Woodhouse followed 5 Mins later for 2-0. 10 mins later Woodhouse put a great pass in for the forwards making it 3-0. The Barrel Inn who you might have thought had little left to offer strung several great passes together and brought the game back to 3-1 thinking now that they had every right to look to advance more they looked for another. Woodhouse keeper whom I only know as fearless kicked the ball from one end of the field to the other catching the keeper of the Barrel slightly of guard and amazingly Woodhouse went 4-1 up.
Overall a great game to follow. The Barrel Inn played some excellent football at times and always looked to have something to offer. They certainly should not be underestimated.
However for me today Tom Bland with that great halftime team talk (which I never heard but he told me was good) takes part of the credit for the day.
A great morning out and well done to both sides for at times playing some great football.

11th September 2011
Under 18 DB Sports League
Woodhouse Juniors U18A versus Maltby Miners Welfare
An afternoon kick off saw Woodhouse host Maltby with both teams enjoying success in their first fixtures last week.
Woodhouse used the wind to their advantage early in the first half when a long through ball from Bullement was chased down by FOSTER who slid the ball past the keeper with a goal coming after taking a deflection off the post.
Maltby came back strong and an injury to skipper Kirkby, meant an early reshuffle of the Woodhouse back four.
Whilst Maltby hit the post, Woodhouse were deservedly up 1-0 at half time.
The second half saw a continuation of the even game. However, Woodhouse went further ahead when sub, COCKBURN hit a great volley from the left side of the box.
Worksop moved to a more attacking formation and went after the game from there on in managing to score on the break after the ball was lost high up the field.
A further late chance saw a great recovery save from Newbould in the Woodhouse goal, which kept the final score at 2-1.
Man of the match - LIAM DYSON, full back moved to centre back following injury.

Sunday 4th 2011
Under 18 DB Sports League
Charnock Ridgeway versus Woodhouse JFC A
Woodhouse travelled to Charnock to begin their league campaign in difficult conditions, following a confidence building pre season.
New Captain, James Kirkby, missing three of his regular team members, settled the players well. Kicking downhill in the first half, Woodhouse enjoyed lots of possession with the home team reduced to break away attacks.
The Charnock strikeforce were contained though by a well organised Woodhouse defence, and it was Woodhouse that took the lead when David Bullement side footed Bradley Lamberts accurate run and cross, between the outstretched keepers arms.
Lots of chances followed until a Woodhouse missed penalty meant the teams started the second half with just a single goal separating them. The impetus was set for a Charnock onslaught as they were now kicking down the hill. Woodhouse remained solid at the back and played some very neat and pleasing football, forcing some great saves from the Charnock keeper.
Joe Newbould in goal, one of several players making their league debut, remained untested until a high ball into the box was dropped. However, quick to react he seized the ball at the second attempt and Woodhouse were back on their way.
A nervous last 15 saw the last of the Woodhouse subs used with a change of emphasis to 4-5-1, but we continued to create chances. That said, at 0-1 Charnock were still in the game and a second goal would have eased the nerves of the Woodhouse supporters and coaches.
The game finished Charnock 0 - 1 Woodhouse. A great team display, with all 3 subs giving the manager a headache about next weeks team selection.
Any number of players could have been awarded man of the match, but for his tireless effort, whilst being played out of position, with an assist to his name, the award goes to BRADLEY LAMBERT.
Next game: 11 Sept 2011, 2pm kick off versus Maltby MW at Flockton Park.

A late strike from Greasboro means Woodhouse have now drawn 10 games this season. A fair result in a very competitive game today. Woodhouse gifted the home team an early lead as a Woodhouse deflection wriggled past the stranded keeper. A Green corner was then turned into the Greasboro goal by Clark to level the scores at half time.
Will less than 15 minutes remaining Nabo was first to meet a dropping goal kick on the half way line, the ball was well headed out high on the wing and a King volley from all of 25 yards out gave Woodhouse the lead before Greasboro then forced the exciting finale.

Once again two fantastic matches played by two committed teams, both games were 0-0 for quite a while, Woodhouse Juniors ran out 4-1 in the First game and 3-0 in the Second, both sides played some excellent Football at times and it was a pleasure to both watch and manage, scorers for Woodhouse were Bailey Onwuna, Ethan Barnett, Jack Smith, Brandon Wheeler, Samir Arrian, Ross Whitehead and Lewis Kelly straight from a corner kick,Ben Griffin scoring for Brampton, once again well done to both sets of players, and a special mention for the parents of both teams.
U12's Millhouses 6 Woodhouse 3
Woodhouse were in contention at half time, but were to be overrun by Millhouses in the second half. McNeil scored a stunning goal to level at 1-1, before Gilvarry put Woodhouse into a deserved lead. Nabo's first goal for the team was well taken but was a late consolation.
U14's Woodhouse 3 Sheffield Six's 2
The game of the season at Flockton Park saw a battling 10 man Woodhouse beat a very strong attacking force from Sheffield Six's. Excellent performances from many players in both teams and played in excellent spirit.
U15's Woodhouse 1 Wentworth 4
A goaless second half was unexpected after a free flowing first period which saw Wentworth storm into a 4-1 lead inside 30 minutes. The game settled down but was full of good football and exciting chances right to the final whistle. Wentworth fully deserved the points today and Woodhouse can learn from this game.

U 9's Woodhouse Juniors 5 v 0 Norton Lees,
Following on from the same fixture last week away at Graves Park that ended up 5 v 4 to Woodhouse, another two good games played in Good spirit by two committed sides, full marks to Norton Lees for giving 100 percent both last week and this week, first game this morning settled by a Hat Trick from Bailey Onwuna, second one decided with two goals from Centre Half Brandon Wheeler (captain), thoroughly enjoyed both games, although the score probably flatters Woodhouse, at some point both games could have gone either way, special mention to Bailey/Brandon for scoring today and goalkeepers Jack Mosley and Luke Revill, both did a good job today when required
Full respect to both teams for providing two enjoyable weeks of Football
U14's Woodhouse 1 Nether Green 3
An excellent game played on an improving pitch, two footballing sides at the top of their game and maybe the end result was harsh on Woodhouse who dominated the attacking play for long spells.Nether Green are a good team and always threatened the Woodhouse goal though when pushing forward. Green sealed promotion with this victory and Woodhouse will progress from todays performance . Congratulations to both sets of players.

Still shell shocked from last weeks game Woodhouse did what was needed this week. Yet another clean sheet from Sam with Dowie and Ben both the scorers for Woodhouse.

U12 Manton Athletic 2 Woodhouse Juniors 4
An excellent first half performance saw Woodhouse create lot of chances with Green and Platton netting from close range. The second half nerves returned though as Manton played well and had a couple of good breaks before pulling a goal back. Woodhouse rolled up their sleeves and went on to win this game with Platton scoring his second and Johnson Keeton curling one into the top corner from the edge of the area. A spectacle to watch even on a sticky pitch and played in great spirit. Well done the everyone concerned.
U16 Greasborough Youth 3 v 2 Woodhouse Juniors
This was always going to be a game with something to talk about and it didnt let us down. Top 2 playing possibly for the title. Greasborough kicking down hill were all over Woodhouse in the first 25 mins with the odd break away for Woodhouse just going wide. Greasborough played some excellent football and are gifted with an excellent team in every position in my book. Greasborough took the lead at half time with a 2-0 lead and if truth be known Woodhouse looked done for.
Half time team talk and Woodhouse came out all guns blazing 2 quick goals brought Woodhouse level Dowie and Jake working well upfront to gift each other with a goal. Peters looked well in the middle of the park once or twice running at a Greasborough defence and coming close.
Richard had a free kick which was hit so sweet it came back of the post with everyone amazed it hadnt even gone in.
Both keepers pulled off excellent saves in both the first and 2nd half helping to keep both teams in the game.
Woodhouse pressed for the 3rd goal maybe now in hignsight they should have sat in for a 2-2 draw we will never know.
Greasborough broke for the last time and managed to squeeze one past the keeper 3-2 Greasborough. Woodhouse at this point done for they could offer little more.
With less than 4 mins to go they gave all they had left to try and achieve a final result it wasnt to be.
Well done both teams for providing a great game of football.

Match Reports
U16 Eckington 0 v 2 Woodhouse Juniors
A ten man Woodhouse team arrived at Eckington with Dowie, Nathan, Elliot, Jack all out injured or on other activities. Kick off arrived and Woodhouse luck kicked in a sweet cross from Jake hitting an Eckington Player and then the back of the goal within the first 5 mins was not what Eckington needed.
Eckington worked hard and still I dont know how the ball deflected of a Woodhouse player hit the cross bar and then land in the hands of Woodhouse Keeper. Eckington's lady luck wasn't with them today.
Pressing again uphill Eckington forced Sam the keeper to make a great and to be fair his only real save of the day.
Half time 0-1 Woodhouse
Second half we expected Eckington to really get at Woodhouse as they kicked down hill. The Keeper had a big kick it wasn't to be. Woodhouse working on the last breath of fresh Eckington air dug in and defended well.
Richard once an Eckington player picked up the ball for a Free kick his sweet right foot hit the ball and for a brief moment we thought it was going in but the Eckington Keeper held it well.
15 min's before half time the Eckington left back no 2 did one of the best tackles I've seen in a longtime. Somehow he managed to catchup with Jake who was looking for number 2 goal and forced a tackle forcing a corner. Eckington No 2 this for me was excellent.
With less than 5 mins to go Woodhouse finally achieved a 2nd Jake locked onto a pass forward which had just come from a goal kick from Eckington and with the keeper of his line he lobbed him.
At times some never appreciate the other team today both teams did.
Well done to all

Match Reports
U12's Woodhouse trailed 1-0 at half time but Clark and Platton helped to turn their dominance into a 2-1 lead before Throstles grabbed a late equaliser. A good game for the neutral but one point wont do either side many favours in this relegation battle.
U14's A Cassim brace helped Woodhouse to victory over an excellent promotion chasing AFC Dronfield team. Wheelhouse and Gelsthorpe scored smart goals for Woodhouse in
what had been an end to end and entertaining game of football.
U16's This top of the table clash was played in a great spirit, a 4-4 draw looked a fair result, with Hukin (2),Talbot and Abrahams netting for Woodhouse.
Two outstanding teams playing good football in difficult conditions.
Well done to both teams.

Gilvarry netted his first goal for Woodhouse to level things just before half time. Both teams created plenty of chances, with a clinical Maltby deserving the points today.
Under 16's Nether Green 1 v 8 Woodhouse Juniors
Jake Abrahams has always fancied himself as a bit of a striker and today he showed what he and his team can achieve when they apply themselves. This versitile Woodhouse side has the ability to rotate its squad and play in any position. Focusing on positive thoughts and working yet again have worked well. Sam Kirkland playing his first season in goal pulled of a great save. Credit to Nether Green whom at which ever age group we have met have always been a pleasure to play against.

Woodhouse started brightly, but trailed to a late first half goal. Pushing to get back in the game, Woodhouse fell further behind with some clinical on the break finishing by Handley Wood. Woodhouse never gave up and deserved more than the scoreline suggested.
U15's Cup Woodhouse Juniors 3 Charnock Ridgeway 2
Woodhouse held on to deserved place in the next round after they had led for most of the game. Both teams played some exciting free flowing football, creating many chances in a match played in the right spirit. Woodhouse had led 3-1 with Charnock netting late to ensure an exciting finish.
U16's Cup Woodhouse Juniors 8 Somersall Rangers 3
For as long as I can remember Woodhouse Juniors U16s have never won against Somersall Rangers. In our early days Somersall would dominate. Last year Woodhouse achieved a 2-2 Draw. This year Woodhouse have achieved not only a result but for the first time into the 3rd round. Some good football played from both teams today.

Under 12's Killamarsh 5 Woodhouse 2
A goaless first half, saw some nice football, but few clear cut chances.
This was followed by a goal fest in the 2nd half, Clark giving Woodhouse the lead with a sweet half volley, Killamarsh then had Woodhouse on the backfoot scoring 4 goals in a frustrating 15 minutes for the Woodhouse defence.
King then pulled the score back to 4-2 with a close range header, before Killamarsh sealed the 3 points close to the end.
Under 14's Woodhouse 2 Throstles 3
Woodhouse enjoyed more of the first half possession, so Throstles were please to get to half time leading 0-1. The second half started in the same vein with Woodhouse enjoying more of the ball and Cassim levelling with a good cross goal strike. The game then sparked into life withThrostles creating the clearer cut chances and scoring two quick goals.

A strong Dronfield team bossed the game from the start creating a number of good early chances but some organised defending kept the scores level for the first quarter of the game. Woodhouse lost possesion a couple of times to go in 0-2 at half time. The second half was a much closer encounter with both teams creating goal scoring opportunities. Dronfield sealed the points with a third goal and although Woodhouse played some good attacking football, on this day Dronfield's strength gave them a deserved win.
