Management Team
PLAYERS WJFC Under 12s April 2007 Last Game of Season Team Photo "Never get involved in childrens football", someone once advised as my 7 year old son pestered me to find a football club he could play for. What luck when we found that Woodhouse Junior FC was looking for players to start an U8 section. So off we went, complete with second hand football boots, to try and make the grade. Balmy summer training nights became cool autumn and then freezing cold winter, Sunday matches. It's now 5 years since those words of warning were spoken to me. Did I take any notice? Not at all. By the end of the first season I had become treasurer of the section and now find myself manager of the U12's. It was never my intention to become the manager but with the backing of an excellent coach and advice from committee members I've been willing to give it a go. In the last 4 years I've seen a lot of players and a few managers come and go. I've made a lot of new friends, had the odd sleepless night and feel like football has taken over my life. The team have had some good times ( a match played at Skegness which against all odds we won, as U10's) and some rotten times (being beaten 22-0, as U8's), but I'm still here and at the start of every season look forward with anticipation. And as for not getting involved, my advice to anyone whose son or daughter wants to play club football is to join in as much as possible. There's nothing better than seeing those smiling faces as they walk off the pitch and knowing that you are a part of it. ![]() ![]() Above Photo is of Woodhouse Junior Fc Under 10s Season 2004 - 2003
